Matt Rocheleau spent his youth on the waters of Cape Cod fishing and digging for clams in Falmouth’s Great Pond.
In 1995, Sue and Matt moved back to their hometown of Falmouth on the shores of Vineyard Sound and opened up a retail and wholesale fish market that bore The Clam Man name. Today The Clam Man provides superb quality fish daily to over 150 restaurants and institutions on Cape Cod and over the bridge. The retail store is open 6-7 days a week, serving a wide variety of seafood to a loyal following of customers from Cape Cod, and to the swelling summer home and vacationing population.
Four kids and three decades later, Sue and Matt are still the heart and soul of The Clam Man.
Matt and his son Marc are not the only friendly faces at the Clam Man.
The staff is well-trained and knowledgeable about daily catches and the abundance of seafood available. Their confidence, patience and desire to make customers happy reflect the values of the Rocheleau family. From storing seafood to preparing, from understanding the difference between fish types to offering amounts to purchase for guests and family, the staff accommodates all customer needs.
The Clam Man is deeply embedded in the Cape Cod landscape and an integral part of the Falmouth Community.
Raising four kids in Falmouth has provided Sue and Matt opportunities to give back. Some of the many beneficiaries of The Clam Man’s generosity include: Falmouth Volunteers in Public Schools, Falmouth Hockey, Falmouth Service Center, Homeless Prevention Council, and ALS One.
